The 2022 Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) begins on October 15th. AEP is the time of year when Medicare beneficiaries can make changes to their current Medicare coverage. This time can be stressful for seniors, considering the available plan types and pressure to pick the right one. At Fidelis, we pride ourselves on ensuring you get the best possible care and the perfect plan for you and your wallet. To help, we have made an AEP checklist for you to start preparing now!
- Review your current plan. Look back on medical bills and receipts from the past year. If your coverage didn’t meet your budget, there could be a better plan with better coverage for you.
- Create a list of your prescriptions. You will need this list if you are looking for a Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or a Medicare Advantage Plan with prescription drug (MA-PD) coverage. This list should include the name of the medication and dosage you need to be covered.
- Create a list of your providers. This list should include your primary doctor, specialists, clinics, hospitals you visit often, and medical services you use frequently. This list will help you and your agent find a Medicare plan that best suits your needs.
- Call your licensed agent to schedule an appointment. Beginning October 1st, Fidelis agents can guide you through the available plans, answer any questions you may have, and address your concerns. Keep in mind that, although agents can give insight and guidance, they cannot make changes to your current Medicare plan until October 15th.
By completing all these steps, you will be ready for the 2022 Medicare Annual Enrollment Period. Call Fidelis today to book a virtual, over-the-phone, or in-person appointment with one of our top-notch agents!
